AORA auf der Bühne in Schwarzenberg
Review 2023

:alpenarte highlights

The :alpenarte in 2023 was all about local talent and top international artists. A special innovation were the pre-concerts in the foyer, which offered a stage for young up-and-coming artists from Vorarlberg, followed by performances by international musicians in the Angelika Kauffmann Saal. On Sunday, the focus was on a commissioned composition written by the young Tyrolean composer Michael A. Leitner, which was premiered by the brass quintet R.E.T. Chamber Brass. The :alpenarte attached great importance to personal encounters between artists and the public. Artistic Director Matthias Honeck and his sister Anna Maria emphasized this direct contact and created an intimate living room atmosphere at the opening concert “I dr Stuba”, in which the audience sat in close contact with the musicians. In addition to music, the festival also focused on culinary art, conceptual art and photography. Visitors had the opportunity to get to know the artists personally at a “Meet the Artists” event. The :alpenarte also offered an extensive music education program for the youngest, including hands-on concerts and performances at various high schools in the region. A total of almost 1000 pupils were addressed.
