Handover of the directorship in fall 2022

Since its founding, our young festival :alpenarte has been captivating audiences with top-class artists and an extraordinary variety of programs and has made a name for itself in the Vorarlberg and supra-regional music scene even during the difficult pandemic years.

This successful path is to be continued with some new impulses.

First and foremost, we want to get as many people as possible excited about music with our great festival! And not only address a specific target group, but people of all ages.

We wish that the :alpenarte becomes more and more a place of encounter. Music is encounter, music touches people deep inside and picks them up where they are.

Music connects, does not exclude and can touch every soul in its diversity. A famous conductor and composer once said, “Music is the connection between heaven and earth!”

That’s why we want to inspire not only “music-affine”, but EVERYONE and EVERYONE! We want our visitors to experience that “something” is different at :alpenarte, although at first glance we embody a classical music festival.

We would like to create a space of encounter, starting from the arrival in Schwarzenberg to the conversations before, during and after the concert, to the convivial finale. These encounters can and may leave traces.

With our location in the visually as well as acoustically enchanting Angelika Kauffmann Hall in Schwarzenberg, wonderfully situated in the beautiful Bregenzerwald region, we present a very attractive destination for concertgoers. An ideal setting, then, to enjoy music, nature and wonderful encounters with all the protagonists at the highest level.

Preparations for the next edition of :alpenarte in autumn 2023 are already in full swing and I am extremely pleased to be able to present our program and our artists to you very soon.
