Review 2024

:alpenarte highlights

From 10 to 13 October, :alpenarte 2024 took place, once again making Schwarzenberg the center of musical diversity. For the first time, the festival kicked off outside the festival venue, the Alter Landtagssaal in Bregenz, while the Angelika Kauffmann Saal in Schwarzenberg, the traditional venue, continued to form the heart of the program. Under the direction of Matthias Honeck, who was responsible for the artistic management together with his sister Anna Maria Honeck, :alpenarte once again offered numerous musical highlights this year.

Thursday – Brothers Martin
Lionel (cello) and Demian Martin (piano) offered an evening full of surprises. With a mixture of favorite repertoire, improvisation and humorous moderation, they delighted the audience and ensured a successful start.

Friday – Classical to percussion
In the Angelika Kauffmann Saal in Schwarzenberg, the duo Minerva (clarinet and accordion) opened the evening with a mixture of classical and crossover music. Trio Colores impressed with a successful combination of classical music and modern percussion sounds, with the world premiere of a work by F. Künzli standing out in particular.

Saturday – Jazz and virtuosity
The jazz trio of Jakob Lampert (trumpet), Leonard Winter (double bass) and Michael Naphegyi (drums) captivated the audience with an energetic performance. Later, María Dueñas (violin) and Alexander Malofeev (piano) shone in the Grand Concert with a varied program, which was rounded off by the world premiere of a work by G. Ortiz.

Sunday – workshops and anniversary
Workshops by Federspiel and yodeling expert Evelyn Fink-Mennel offered an interactive introduction. In the evening, Federspiel celebrated its 20th anniversary with a best-of program that provided a rousing finale. Jakob Lampert tsoloed together with Federspiel on some of the numbers.

The :alpenarte 2024 offered a varied program ranging from classical music and jazz to world premieres and also reached almost 600 children and young people in the region with school concerts and school visits. The program was rounded off by the exhibition by Chantal Boso-Flores and Strolz Leuchten and the culinary accompaniment by Wolfgang Mätzler.

We look forward to next year from October 9 to 12, 2025!
