The musical path of cellist and singer-songwriter Marie Spaemann is characterized on the one hand by a busy and varied concert activity, and on the other hand by her contemplative and curious approach to the various forms of artistic creation.
With her cello playing Marie Spaemann won the “International Johannes Brahms Competition” in Pörtschach. A few years later, she toured Germany and Austria as the solo opening act and vocalist for electroswing pioneer [dunkelbunt] .
In addition to appearing as a soloist with numerous orchestras (including the North German Philharmonic Orchestra, the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and the Croatian Chamber Orchestra), her concerts have taken her to a wide variety of stages at international festivals, including the :alpenarte and More Ohr Less festivals in Austria, the FESTIVAL NEXT GENERATION in Switzerland, the PODIUM Festival and the Fusion Festival in Germany, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival in Croatia, the Puplinge Classique Festival in France, the South Korean Festival Classic Garden and Konzerthaus International in New York.
In 2018 Marie Spaemann performed with her solo program at the Cello Biennale Amsterdam, among others, and played with her duo with Christian Bakanic (accordion) in the Berio Hall of the Vienna Konzerthaus. She also performs regularly as a soloist in the production “The World of Hans Zimmer”, which has been playing the major arenas and halls of Europe since mid-March 2019.
