Fridolin Schöbi

Fridolin Schöbi was born on 2002 in Feldkirch. At the age of five he received his first lessons on the viola from Markus Kessler in Feldkirch. He later studied with Klaus Christa at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory, with Lawrence Power at the Zurich University of the Arts, and with Thomas Selditz at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. He receives other musical impulses through numerous master classes, among others with Patrick Jüdt, Jean Sulem, Julia Adler, Thomas Riebl and Hartmut Rohde. Several times he gets the opportunity to perform as a soloist with orchestras, e.g. with the Youth Symphony Orchestra Dornbirn, the Bregenzer Musikfreunde, the KBSinfonietta, the Camerata Musica Reno as well as the student orchestra of the Landeskonservatorium Vorarlberg. He is a multiple prize winner at the Swiss Young Musicians Competition and at “Prima la Musica” in Austria, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. In 2018, he was awarded two special prizes at the Carl Flesch Academy in Baden-Baden. He is a member of the inn.wien ensemble and the chamber orchestra Eroica Berlin, among others.

Since fall 2022 he is a student in the class of Hartmut Rohde at the Berlin University of the Arts. He plays a viola by Pierre Vidoudez (Geneva, 1957), which is made available to him by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
