Damian Keller was born in Bregenz in 1995 and received his first accordion lessons at the age of seven. In 2009 he passed the entrance exam at the Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium in Feldkirch with Prof. Goran Kovacevic and from 2012 he was a member of the Förderklasse für musikalisch Hochbegabte des Landes Vorarlberg. To further his artistic education, he moved to the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien (MUK) in 2015 to study with Univ.-Prof. Grzegorz Stopa. Master classes with Iñaki Alberdi, Song Na, Stefan Hussong, Frank Marocco, Mikael Augustsson, Andreas Nebl, Semion Shmelkov and Grzegorz Stopa complete his artistic education so far.
His field of activity includes mainly works of the baroque, classical and contemporary music. In addition, Damian Keller has a special passion for the tango. Collaboration with young composers is also important to him. An intensive cooperation exists with the Iranian Alireza Toghiyani, with whom he performed at the international festival “Porto Franko” in Ivano-Frankivsk in Ukraine in 2017. He also gave world premieres of works by Gerald Futscher, among others. Damian Keller is a prize winner of several national and international competitions. In 2017, together with his duo partner Johanna Gossner (Duo Minerva), he was a scholarship winner at the “Fidelio Competition” of the Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna. In the fall of 2019, the duo released its debut album “Danse Macabre”.
Most recently, Damian Keller has performed as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles at home and abroad and has been involved in various productions (e.g. at the Vorarlberger Landestheater or Bühne Baden).
