Trio Colores

Percussion

Energetic, multi-faceted, innovative. This is how the trio Colores, consisting of Matthias Kessler (*1997), Luca Staffelbach (*1996) and Fabian Ziegler (*1995), presents itself. The young musicians share a long-standing passion for percussion and an endless joy of playing. As Trio Colores, they present classical and contemporary works to the audience in uniquely conceived concerts, thus skillfully re-establishing the percussion in the classical concert scene.

This led them to many renowned classical music festivals and in 2021 to their debut in the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie, where they performed Ravel’s “Le Tombeau de Couperin”.

Her percussion skills have also been recognized in competitions. In 2019, the three musicians won the renowned Swiss chamber music competition “Migros Culture Percentage” and its Audience Award, and in 2022 they received the Lerman Gold Prize and the Audience Choice Award at the “Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition” in Easton MD (USA). They have also won prizes at the International Anton Rubinstein Competition and the Berlin International Music Competition.

The ensemble had its first tour of South Korea in 2022, followed by further tours to the USA and South Korea in 2024. Her debut CD “En Couleur” will be released in October 2024 – recorded at the Angelika Kauffmann Saal Schwarzenberg. A work by Fabian Künzli will also be premiered at :alpenarte.
