Yury Revich, born in Moscow in 1991, comes from a dynasty of violinists – his father, grandfather and great-grandfather were also violinists. He studied with Galina Turchaninova, Viktor Pikayzen, Valery Vorona, Pavel Vernikov and with his father. Despite his young age, he is already an exceedingly mature and serious artist and is one of the most expressive musicians of his generation (“Strong authority, quick dexterity, innate musicality and convincing accuracy,” The Strad). His musical talent has been recognized with numerous international prizes and awards.
For example, he was awarded the “Young Musicians Award” by the Beethoven Center Vienna and was named “Junior Violin Ambassador” of the AMADEUS International School Vienna.In 2015 he was named “Young Artist of the Year” at the “International Classical Music Awards”, and in 2016 he received the “ECHO KLASSIK” for young artists.
As a soloist, Yury Revich has already performed with various orchestras, including. with the Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra, with the orchestra “La Verdi Milano”, the orchestra “I Pomeriggi Musicali”, the Northwest German Philharmonic Orchestra, the German State Philharmonic Orchestra Rheinland-Pfalz, the Zagreb Soloists, the Russian National Orchestra, the Moscow Soloists as well as the Israel Sinfonietta, and worked with conductors such as Yuri Bashmet, Mikhail Pletnev, Justus Frantz, Zhang Xian, Gintaras Rinkevic?ius and Yuri Simonov. He has performed in the world’s most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, La Scala in Milan, Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, Berlin Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Berlin, Vienna Konzerthaus, Tonhalle Zurich, Vienna Musikverein, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Gasteig in Munich, Metropolitan Hall in Tokyo, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow and Cadogan Hall in London. Yury Revich has also been a guest at numerous international festivals such as the Verbier Festival, the Festival Radio France in Montpellier and the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad. He was invited by the Aurora Music Star Festival in Sweden and the FESTIVAL NEXT GENERATION Bad Ragaz in Switzerland as Artist in Residence.
The young violinist is musically very versatile: he plays baroque music on historical instruments, but also enjoys modern music. Several composers have dedicated their works to him. As a chamber musician he performs with renowned international artists such as Gary Hoffman, Daniil Trifonov, Liana Isakadze, Massimo Quatra and Lawrence Dutton. Yury Revich has made numerous recordings for Sony Classical, Capriccio, ARS Produktion and Odradek Records, among others.
The young musician had the honor to play some performances on the Stradivari “Duke of Alba” and on the Guarneri del Gesù “Ex-Max Rostal”, which were put at his disposal by the Stradivari Society. He has also played on the legendary Guarneri “The King”. Since 2016, Yury Revich has been playing a 1709 “Golden Period” Stradivarius provided to him by the Goh Family Foundation.
