From the sounds of the Middle Ages to contemporary music – clean yet energetic, brilliant and vividly interpreted: this is Vivid Consort. The Vienna-based collective breathes new life into the moving rants and bittersweet melodies of centuries past, juxtaposing pieces from the last few decades. Exposure to historical sources and to a wide variety of arts from past eras should lead to a more comprehensive experience and understanding of early music.
The discovery of unconventional interpretations, unusual performance venues and cross-genre collaborations has taken the musicians to Japan, Poland, Montenegro, Spain, Iran, Germany and Austria, among other places – most recently to the Vienna Musikverein and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
