Tomislav Vukšic was born in 1980 in Zagreb, Croatia. There he first attended the music school “Vatroslav Lisinski” in the class of Prof. Ratko Podvorac. He then studied at the Zagreb Academy of Music in the class of Prof. Darko Petrinjak. He completed his master’s degree at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague in the class of Prof. Zoran Dukic. During his studies in The Hague, Tomislav Vukšic received a prestigious scholarship from the Huygens Scholarship Program, which is awarded only to the most talented students.
Tomislav Vukšic attended master classes with world famous guitarists such as Pavel Steidl, Carlo Marchione, Pablo Márquez, Aniello Desiderio, Timo Korhonen, Angelo Gilardino, Thomas Offermann and Ana Vidovic.
The young guitarist has won numerous national and international competition prizes, including the 2nd prize at the National Competition for Music and Dance (Dubrovnik/Croatia, 2003), the 1st prize at the “Festival Internacional de Guitarra Clássica – Guitarmania” (Almada/Portugal, 2006), the 2. prize at the “Twents Gitaarfestival” (Enschede/Netherlands, 2007) as well as the 1st prize and the audience award at the “Alhambra Gitaar Festival” (Alkmaar/ Netherlands, 2007).
Tomislav Vukšic is a member of the guitar trio “Elogio” (together with Pedro Ribeiro Rodrigues and Petrit Çeku) and is currently a lecturer at the Zagreb Academy of Music.
