Nilay Özdemir was born in 1991 and began her musical education at the Antalya State Conservatory at the age of eleven. Only three years later, in 2005, she gave her first solo concert at the Antalya State Opera. In 2006 she had the honor to perform as “Young Soloist” with the Antalya Symphony Orchestra.
The young violist studied with Prof. Tatjana Masurenko at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig, with Prof. Jean Sulem in Paris and with Prof. Tabea Zimmermann at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin. She is currently completing a master’s degree (soloist) at the Berlin University of the Arts with Prof. Hartmut Rohde and regularly plays as assistant principal violist in the Konzerthausorchester Berlin.
Nilay Özdemir has already been invited to famous festivals, including the Kronberg Academy, the Seiji Ozawa International Academy, the Verbier Festival as well as the Krzyzowa Festival.
