Violin

Mohamed Hiber, an exceptional talent, was born in Pantin near Paris in 1995. He is not only an outstanding soloist, but also an enthusiastic chamber musician and sought-after concertmaster. He has worked closely with two of the greatest artists of our time, Daniel Barenboim and Anne-Sophie Mutter, for many years. Since 2019 he has been concertmaster of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under the direction of Daniel Barenboim, a position he has held since 2010. He travels the world together with star violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter. He is also regularly invited as a guest concertmaster by the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Liverpool Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Mohamed Hiber has been a scholarship holder of the Anne-Sophie-Mutter-Foundation since 2020.

Mohamed Hiber began his training as a violinist with Ana Chumachenco in 2013. He successfully completed his studies at the Munich University of Music with a Master’s degree in 2020. As a soloist, Mohamed Hiber has performed with renowned orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonie Südwestfalen, the Philharmonie Baden-Baden, the MDR Symphony Orchestra, the Danube Orchestra, the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia and the Gstaad Festival Orchestra. He regularly works with renowned conductors, including Nabil Shehata, Marie Jacquot, Frank Braley, Robert Farkas, András Schiff and Neeme Järvi.

As a passionate chamber musician and celebrated recitalist, Mohamed Hiber often performs alongside renowned musicians such as Daniel Barenboim, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Elena Bashkirova, Yuri Bashmet, Gautier Capuçon, Martha Argerich, Kian Soltani and many others. Together they delight audiences at the most prestigious concert series, including the Lucerne Festival, the Beethovenfest in Bonn, the Intonations Festival in Berlin, the Salzburg Festival, the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival, the Rolandseck Festival, the Louisiana Chamber Music Series of the Museum of Modern Art in Denmark and the Easter Festival in Aix-en-Provence.

Together with the talented Hungarian cellist Laura Szabo and the virtuoso Austrian pianist Maximilian Flieder, Mohamed Hiber founded the Elyon Piano Trio. This unique trio combines their exceptional skills and their shared passion for chamber music. The Elyon Trio has already performed at the renowned Beethovenfest in Bonn and at the prestigious Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg, Austria. With their outstanding musical interpretation and harmonious collaboration, they delight audiences all over the world.

Mohamed Hiber has the privilege of playing one of the most outstanding violins made by the famous violin maker Giovanni Battista Guadagnini. The “Ex Lidka” from 1780, a generous loan from a member of the prestigious Stretton Society, is his faithful companion on stage. In addition, Mohamed Hiber has the good fortune to play two bows by Benoit Rolland, which were generously made available to him by the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation. These valuable instruments and bows are an essential part of his unique and unmistakable sound, which enchants and touches the audience.
