Violist Karolina Errera, born in Moscow in 1993, studied at the Central Music School of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and at the Berlin University of the Arts. In 2010 she completed her musical education at the International Summer Academy Mozarteum Salzburg. Since December 2015 she has been a scholarship holder of the Orchestra Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. She is also a scholarship holder at the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive weeks there.
Karolina Errera is a prize winner of various competitions and received, among others, a special prize at the “International Yuri Bashmet Viola Competition” in Moscow and a 1st prize at the “Jan Rakowski Viola Competition” in Poland.
Since 2012, she has regularly participated in various master classes and music festivals such as the Verbier Festival, the International Summer Academy Mozarteum Salzburg and the Pablo Casals Festival in Prades. Karolina Errera has already collaborated with renowned musicians such as Christian Tetzlaff, Gidon Kremer and Steven Isserlis. On the recommendation of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, of which she is a scholarship holder, she took part in the Heidelberg Spring Chamber Music Academy in 2014.
As a prize winner of the “22nd Competition of the German Musical Instrument Fund”, the German Foundation for Musical Life has provided her with a viola by Haiko Seifert (Plauen, 2010) on loan from the Foundation’s holdings since February 2014.
