Daria Ioana Tudor

Piano

Daria Tudor was born on July 25, 1997 in Ploiesti, Romania. At the age of 4 she started piano lessons with Prof. Anca Florentina Borcea in her hometown. From 2004 to 2014 she enjoyed musical lessons with professors Serban-Dimitrie Soreanu from the Music University of Bucharest and Adriana Bocaneanu from the National High School “Dinu Lipatti”, Bucharest. In February 2015, she was accepted as a student at the University of the Arts, Berlin in the class of Professors Pascal Devoyon & Rikako Murata.

Between May 2016 and September 2017 she worked at the University of Arts, Berlin as a lecturer for song accompaniment in contemporary song teaching with professors Axel Bauni and Eric Schneider and participated in several festivals in Finland and Germany among others. Kissinger Sommer – June 2017, Mozartfest Würzburg – June 2016, Crescendo Festival Berlin – May 2016 & 2017. With the soprano Iida Antola, she won the 2nd prize at the competition Das Lied – Paula Salomon Lindberg as well as the prize for the best pianist.

Together with Prof. Eric Schneider she performed O. Messiaen -Visionsde l’Amen at the festival L’esprit de joie (Radialsystem Berlin – April 2017).

Since October 2017 she has been working as an official accompanist at the Rutesheim Cello Academy.

She received further artistic inspiration from: Maria João Pires at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, Belgium; Axel Bauni, Eric Schneider, Frank-Immo Zichner, Artemis Quartet (University of the Arts, Berlin) and in the master classes with Boris Petrushansky, Pavel Gililov, Grigory Gruzman, Andrei Gavrilov, Cristian Beldi, Hakon Astubo, Leonel Morales, Vincenzo Balzani.

Daria is a member of Trio Sternin, together with violinist Georgeta Iordache and cellist Andrei Ionita, Duo Presto, together with violinist Mao Konishi, and Trio Pyxis with violinist Mao Konishi and cellist Haruma Sato.

Daria’s first performance was in 2002 at the Paul Constantinescu Music Competition, where she won 1st prize. Over the next few years, she received numerous other awards at national and international competitions:

August 2016: Special Award “Giovanni Turcotti” – XXXII. Edition of the International Piano Competition Valsesia Musica, Italy.

June 2016: II. prize – I. edition of the concert competition Debut Berlin, Germany

February 2015: I. Prize, Solists and Orchestra Division – XII. Edition of the International Piano Competition Citta di Padova, Italy

May 2014: II. prize – Barlassina International Young Talents Competition, Italy

November 2013: II prize ( I and III were not awarded), Diplome de Concert section XII. Edition of the International Piano Competition Nice Cote d’Azur, France.

2005: the Grand Absolute Prize – Antonino Miserendino Palermo, Italy

May 2004: the I. prize – Jeunesses Musicales, Romania

In 2013 she recorded for the Golden Phonotheque of the Romanian Radio the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 1 Op. 15 by Ludwig van Beethoven together with the National Chamber Orchestra of the Radio and the conductor Cristian Brâncusi as well as a par of chamber music works with her Trio Sternin .

She also performed with the Prima la Musica Orchestra in the Great Hall of the Royal Palace La Monnaie in Brussels, as well as with the orchestras from Padova and Venice.

She had numerous recitals, solo or with a chamber orchestra, on the stages of domestic and foreign philharmonies: in the Great Hall and the Studio Hall of the Romanian Athenaeum, in the Studio Mihail Jora of the Romanian Broadcasting Company; in ICR-Berlin, on the big stage of the Givatayim-Theater – Tel Aviv; St.Martin in the Fields – London; Akishino Hall-Kyoto; in the Atelier Hall of the National Theater- Bucharest, on the big stage of the Conservatorium Koninklijik – Brussels.
