Dmytro Semykras

Dmytro Semykras was born in Ukraine in 2001. He is a fourth-year student of piano at the Sumy High School of Art and Culture named after D. Bortniansky named Sumy High School of Art and Culture.

He is a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy Liechtenstein and regularly participates in the academy’s intensive weeks and activities.

Dmytro participated in many international competitions. Among others, he won the first prize at the “International Piano Competition for Young Pianists Slobozhanska Fantasy” in Ukraine in 2011, the first prize at the “VIII All-Ukrainian Competition Classical Meridian” in Ukraine in 2012 and the first prize at the “International Piano Competition Goldene Taste” in Germany in 2013. In 2016 he won the third prize at the “International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz”, Ukraine, in 2018 the third prize at the “International Piano Competition for Young Pianists Slobozhanska Fantasy”, Ukraine, as well as the Grand Prize at the “Vinnitsa Jazz Competition & Festival”, Ukraine. In 2019, he won second prize at the “International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz”, Ukraine, and first prize at the “International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of S. Richter”, also Ukraine. In 2021 he won the second prize at the international piano competition “Merci, Maestro!” in Belgium and the first prize at the “14th International Volodymyr Krainev Competition for Young Pianists” (online).

Dmytro participated in several international festivals, including the 23rd Kaunas International Festival for Young Musicians in Lithuania, the XXXIII. International Festival Virtuosi in Ukraine, at the International Piano Festival Torre de Canyamel VIII Edition in Spain, at the International Piano Festival Talent Music Master Courses in Italy 2019, at the Blackmore International Music Academy Berlin as well as at the International Music Festival Rethinking Europe III in Sweden.
