Barbara Chemelli

Flute

The flutist Barbara Chemelli was born in Landeck in Tyrol (Austria). She attended the Musikgymnasium in Feldkirch and studied at the Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium with Eva Amsler, Karl-Heinz Schütz and Eugen Bertel. At a young age she won several first prizes at youth competitions and continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich with András Adorján and in the master class of Andrea Lieberknecht. Here she also completed her master’s degree in new music.
Barbara Chemelli was an academist with the Bavarian Orchestra Academy and the Munich Symphony Orchestra, solo flutist with the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra/Deutsche Oper am Rhein and the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, and principal flutist with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra Helsinki. Since September 2015 she has been playing in the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg and can be heard time and again as a soloist and with the Mozart Quartet Salzburg.
