Dražen Domjanic was born in Croatia and studied piano at the Academy of Music in Zagreb and at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. In the class of Prof. Arbo Valdma he passed the concert and teaching diploma with highest honors. He completed further studies at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade and attended master classes in Vienna and Weimar with Rudolf Kehrer, Leonid Brumberg, Vladimir Krpan and Arbo Valdma, among others. As a pianist Dražen Domjanic taught at various institutions in Croatia, Austria and Liechtenstein. Many of his pupils and students are professional musicians today. A busy concert schedule has taken him to Germany, France, Italy, Croatia, Luxembourg, Austria and Spain, among other countries.
Dražen Domjanic is the artistic director of the non-profit foundation Music and Youth(www.musikundjugend.com) and since 2010 the managing director and artistic director of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein(www.musikakademie.li). He was also the founder and artistic director of the FESTIVALS NEXT GENERATION Bad Ragaz – known as the “VP Bank Classic Festival”(www.vpbankclassicfestival.com) from 2019 – which took place for the last time in 2020. In 2011, he also took over the directorship and management of the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra(www.sinfonieorchester.li). Only a few years later, the ENSEMBLE ESPERANZA(www.ensemble-esperanza.li) was founded in 2015 from scholarship holders of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein, which he has been supervising as artistic director ever since. Within a few years, the young ensemble has won international prizes – “International Classical Music Awards” (ICMA) and “OPUS KLASSIK” – as well as other awards and nominations for its CD recordings. In 2016, Dražen Domjanic initiated the :alpenarte festival in Schwarzenberg/Bregenzerwald, Austria(www.alpenarte.eu). With three years of preparation, he also launched the open-air festival VADUZ CLASSIC in August 2017 as a member of the board of directors and managing director(www.vaduzclassic.li), which has since been graced with names such as David Garrett, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Rolando Villazo’n, Valery Gergiev, Denis Matsuev, Cecilia Bartoli and Lang Lang.
Dražen Domjanic is the owner and managing director of KULMAG Kulturmanagement AG, based in Liechtenstein, which is primarily dedicated to the promotion of gifted artists worldwide and digital projects(www.kulmag.live). He received a great honor in March 2018 when he was awarded the “Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria”. In 2021, he was awarded the “Special Achievement Award” at the “International Classical Music Awards” for his achievements as a cultural manager and promoter of young talent.
