Roman attended a music school in Kiev at the age of 5. His teacher was Professor Halyna Kotsiuba. He has been participating in music competitions since the age of six. He is a laureate and student at “New Names of Ukraine” of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. He also receives a scholarship from the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and participates in the intensive music weeks held there.<\/p>\n
Roman won several first prizes, among others in 2015 at the “International Piano Competition Peter Toperzer” in Kosice, Slovakia, at the “Rotary Piano Competition” in Essen, Germany and at the “International Competition for Young Piano Players “Amadeus” in Brno, Czech Republic. In 2016 he won the first prize at the “Volodymyr Krainev International Piano Competition” in Kharkiv, Ukraine, at the “Rosario Marchiano Piano Competition” in Vienna, Austria, and in 2017 at the 62nd International Piano Competition “Grotrian-Steinweg “in Braunschweig, Germany. Roman won the absolute first prize of the International Piano Competition “Piano Talents” in Milan, Italy, in 2014 and 2016, and the second prize of the “International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz” in Kiev, Ukraine. He was also the absolute winner of the 51st International Piano Competition “Virtuosi per musica di pianoforte” in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic in 2018. In 2019, he won the first prize, the EMCY prize and the State Philharmonic prize at the “Peter Toperzer International Piano Competition” in Kosice, Slovakia, as well as the second prize and the “Lipatti Prize” at the international competition for young pianists “Merci, Maestro!” in Brussels, Belgium. Also in 2019, he received the first prize and the Vivace Association prize at the “Val de Travers International Piano Competition” in Neuch\u00e2tel, Switzerland, as well as the first prize in the “Premio Enrico Galletta” category of the “Livorno International Piano Competition” in 2020.<\/p>\n
Roman participated in the piano festival “Lato z Chopinem” in Busko-Zdroj, Poland, in 2017. In 2017, he performed at the Mahlerhalle in the concerts “Wunderkinder al pianoforte” as well as at the “S\u00fcdtirolfestival” in Dobbiaco in Italy. In 2018, he participated in the “Young Future Stars” concert at the Steinway Piano Gallery as part of the “Rethinking Europe: Ukraine II” festival in Stockholm, Sweden.
