In 2007, he joined the class of his father, Marc-Didier Thirault. From 2010, he studied with Philippe Muller before moving to the Conservatoire national sup\u00e9rieur musique et danse (CNSMD) in Lyon in the class of Yvan Chiffoleau, where he received his master&#8217;s degree with distinction in 2016. He is currently studying at the Berlin University of the Arts with Prof. Konstantin Heidrich.<\/p>\n<p>Fran\u00e7ois Thirault attended master classes with Frans Helmerson, J\u00e9r\u00f4me Pernoo, Claudio Boh\u00f3rquez as well as Torleif Thed\u00e9en and played as a chamber musician together with Johannes Meissl, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Marc Danel, Yovan Markovitch and others.<\/p>\n<p>At the &#8220;Concours Vatelot-Rampal&#8221; the young cellist won the 1st prize. He was also a prize winner of the &#8220;Lions Club Competition&#8221;. Fran\u00e7ois Thirault was selected to play with the Orchestra of the International Summer Academy of the University of Vienna as well as with the Orchestra of the Conservatory in the great concert hall of the Auditorium in Lyon. He has also appeared at numerous festivals, including Unione Musicale Torino, Verbier Festival, Encuentro de M\u00fasica y Academia de Santander and Fl\u00e2neries Musicales de Reims.<\/p>\n<p>A graduate of the Berliner Philharmoniker Orchestra Academy (mentor: Martin L\u00f6hr), prizewinner of M\u00e9c\u00e9nat Musical Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 G\u00e9n\u00e9rale, Yamaha Music Foundation and ADAMI, Fran\u00e7ois Thirault currently plays as principal cellist on rehearsal with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":3452,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"categories":[54],"class_list":["post-3986","artists","type-artists","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-2019-spring"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/alpenarte.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/artists\/3986","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/alpenarte.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/artists"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/alpenarte.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/artists"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/alpenarte.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/3452"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/alpenarte.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3986"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/alpenarte.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=3986"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
